Are locksmiths still working during the covid outbreak?

As we all know, COVID-19 is a pandemic that is affecting everyone, but for us at NLS Security Ltd, your safety is of paramount importance – especially during these unprecedented times.
Since the UK went into lockdown, many businesses have had to close temporarily in an attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19. But, the good news is, we are still open as usual and continue to provide safety and security solutions to homes (and essential businesses that remain open) across Newcastle and the North East.
During this period, the vast majority of locksmiths have closed their shops to help combat the coronavirus and reduce its spread. However, we are operating emergency mobile locksmith services and being extra vigilant to ensure the health and safety for both our Newcastle locksmiths and customers.
Emergency mobile locksmith services
The best thing about mobile locksmiths is that they have more or less a shop inside their vehicles, so can tend to many kinds of situations, be it:
·24-hour emergency locksmith service
·Lockouts and door opening
·Lock replacements
·Mobile key cutting and duplication
·Door lock repairs
·Auto locksmith service (for opening car locks)
What are locksmiths in Newcastle doing differently?
As most mobile locksmiths operate alone – and don’t need to interact with customers inside the 2m social distancing rules – the chance of spreading the virus is very low. But to be on the safe side, all our Newcastle locksmiths will be wearing gloves and won’t be shaking hands, while adhering to social distancing measures. They will sanitise their hands before and after each job – usually with soap and hot water – to ensure the virus cannot be carried over. We will also carry masks at all times and wear them when dealing with vulnerable customers.
In addition to this, we will bring a card machine that accepts most major debit and credit cards. We ask that you pay using a card to avoid unnecessary cash-holding which, in turn, will reduce the spread of coronavirus.
What measures can you take?
If you desperately need a locksmith in Newcastle during the coronavirus outbreak, there are a number of basic precautionary measures you can take, including:
·frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
·cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze – don’t use your hands
·put used tissues in the bin immediately and always wash your hands afterwards
·keep a safe 2m distance between you and the locksmith at all times
Before we come out to your property, we will ask whether anyone is self-isolating or has symptoms. This is purely for the safety of our locksmith and their families. If you do have symptoms, whether it be a high temperature or a continuous cough, please make sure that you stay safe at home.
